DESCRIPTION:Terrorism Awareness Presentation by \nJOHN LEMBKE\nDeputy Fire Coordinator • Westchester County Department of Emergency Services\nNYS DHSES\, Intelligence Liaison Officer – FIRE \nAs part of New York State’s ongoing efforts to enhance awareness among\nFire and Emergency Medical Services personnel regarding potential threats to\ntheir safety and the safety of the communities they serve\, this program has\nbeen developed for local implementation. The purpose of this program is to\neducate members of the emergency services about conditions and activities\nthey may encounter during routine responses that could serve as indicators of\ninternational or domestic terrorism. Early recognition of such indicators may\nenable timely intervention and has the potential to save countless lives.\nAs members of the command staff\, it is essential that we understand how\nto properly receive\, assess\, and act upon this information. This program will\naddress the three-number reporting system\, as well as fundamental\nconsiderations when responding to incidents or planning community events.
