Fire Chief Burnout: Causes, Consequences, and Potential Cures
Westchester County Association of Fire Chiefs (WCAFC) presents:
Dr./Chief Will Anderson to discuss Fire Chief Burn Out Among Fire Chief/First Responders.
Discussion will include causes, consequences and potential cures. Chief Anderson will
demonstrate how this can affect families, fire service personnel, and emergency personnel.
The presentation is 120 minutes and will involve a power point presentation, lecture with time for
questions, The presentation will summarize Dr./Chief Anderson’s doctoral dissertation, which aims
to educate current and future fire chiefs, their personnel, their families and fire service members
about how to recognize burnout, avoid harmful leadership behaviors and build resiliency to lead
their organization with excellence.
Dr./Chief Will Anderson is a retired Chief Fire Officer from Northeast Ohio who has served 30 years
in the Fire Service in both combination and career departments.
Spouse and families are invited and encouraged to attend
